CARPENTER BEES Using their sharp teeth, carpenter bees bore tunnels into wood siding, decks, doors, windowsills, roof eaves, railings, even lawn furniture. Over time, that excavation weakens the wood, inviting mold and rot. Hibernating inside their bored nests, female carpenter bees emerge in early spring to mate, forage for food and lay eggs.
