5-Way Flat Trailer Connector is typically used in the marine applications providing for left and right turn signals, taillight, ground and electric brake/auxiliary/reverse functions. They are quick and easy to install, and easily connected and disconnected as needed. The molded Connectors stand up well to repeated disconnecting. To install, cut Connector and splice Female End (end with only one terminal showing) into Vehicles wire harness. Tap-In Connectors (#1560KT) will make this a faster installation. The Male End (end with five terminals showing) is connected to Trailer wiring harness. Most Trailers will be wired with White for Ground, Brown for Taillights, Yellow for Left Turn & Brake, Green for Right Turn & Brake and Blue for Electric Brake/Auxiliary/Reverse Lights. Vehicle wiring does not necessarily follow this guide so the use of an Electrical Tester (#0690PT) will help in determining the correct Vehicle wire for the correct function. Test all light functions with Vehicle running and tow trailer attached to vehicle. For trouble shooting check first for good grounds and then using a Circuit Tester test Vehicle Connector End wiring to see if it matches correctly with Trailer end. Correct as needed.
